Science in the Summer: Bio Science

Science in the Summer coming to the library July 29 to Aug. 1

REGISTER NOW! Science in the Summer is coming to the Prospect Park Library again this year! The theme is Bioscience.

 Science in the Summer is a free science education program that helps elementary school children “grow into science.”

 The program will be Monday, July 29 to Thursday, August 1

 • Level I 10 am for children entering 2nd & 3rd grade

• Level II 11am for children entering 4th, 5th & 6th grade.

 Must come to library to register. Register NOW….Space is limited!

SPRING BOOK, BAKE & DVD SALE PLUS “SPRINGTIME PARTY!”

SPRING BOOK, BAKE & DVD SALE

Friday, April 12th – 6PM to 8PM

Saturday, April 13th – 9AM to 1 PM (Bake goods on Saturday only)

     Please come join us for inexpensive quality reading material, delicious home-baked goods, and some surprising audio-visual “finds!”  All proceeds support library programs and services.  Donations of gently-used books are gratefully accepted the week of the sale. 

SPRINGTIME PARTY 

Saturday, April 13th – 10am to noon

Children are welcome to create springtime decorations for the library and home.  Especially helpful while parents browse our Book & Bake Sale

Saturday June 23rd  the Prospect Park Library is having  our “Third Annual Children’s Book Fair”  from9am-3pm.  Purchase inexpensive quality reading material for children of all ages & other suprises too!  All proceeds support library programs and services.

Proceeds Benefit the Prospect Park Free Library – “Keeping Children Reading”

$100 Per Player $50 Per Corporate Hole Sponsor
Player fee includes: greens fee, golf cart, commemorative polo shirt, two mulligans, open bar/food, contests and prizes. The after party and awards ceremony will be held at Marty Magee’s on Rt 420 in Prospect Park immediately following the outing.

Registration forms can be picked up at Marty Magee’s in Prospect Park. Payments can be made to the day bartender Charlie Zeiger or registration forms can be mailed to mailed with payment to: Joe Magee, 719 10th Avenue, Prospect Park, PA 19076

SUMMER STORYTIMES & SPECIAL EVENTS

BEDTIME BOOK BUDDIES (ages 3-5) -  Monday: June 27th to July 25th @ 6:30pm.
End you day each Monday evening with exciting stories and a fun activity, such as a craft. Pajamas are optional!

FRIENDS’ CIRCLE TIME  (ages 2-5) -
Tuesday: June 28th to July 26th @ 11am.
Children ages 2-5 and their caregiver are invited to join us for books, rhymes, songs and other fun activities.

PAJAMA STORYTIME (ages 6 & up) -
Thursday: June 30th to July 28th  @ 6:30pm
Snuggle up for an evening storytime. Children 6 & up will enjoy stories, crafts and fun activities. Pajamas are optional!

INFANT STORYTIME:  Ages Birth to 24months/Tuesdays @ 11am.  August 2, Aug 16th, Aug. 23rd, Aug 30th.  Enjoy books, fingerplays, rhymes, puppets & much more!!

SUMMERTIME SPECIALS

Summer Kickoff:  It’s a Great Big, Really Small World - Sat., June 25th @ 11am.  Start the summer at our library with storyteller, Don Dougherty.  All ages come listen and become part of the voyage that will take you around the world!                            

 Splish-Splash Story Time – Wednesday in July @ 1pm.  Dive into reading at Prospect Park Swim Club with poolside stories.  ***Registration is not required, however, you must be a member or guest to attend.***

Best American Girls @ The Library – Ages 5-10.  Tuesdays Aug 16th & Aug 23rd @ 12-1pm.  Bring your favorite doll, share stories, do crafts, receive free giveaways and have a tea party with your doll.                                     Register, early, limited space!    

Science In the Summer:  Simple Machines – Mon. – Thurs., August 1st – 4th.  Children entering 2 & 3 @ 10 am and grades 4,5, & 6 @ 11am.  Registration is now open; participants will be selected by lottery.   Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline.
